“There are three ways and three ways only to grow your business.” I can hear these words as if they were told to me yesterday.
But it wasn’t yesterday, it was over 15 years ago by the best marketing mind I’ve ever met–Jay Abraham. (If you don’t know Jay you should look him up at www.Abraham.com)
Anyway, his three ways strategy has stuck with me ever since and I make sure that I apply this principal to any company where I’m responsible for the marketing.
For the purposes of this article I’m going to talk about the three strategies as it relates to online email marketing but it applies just as easily to ALL marketing channels.
Three ways to grow your business with online email marketing.
One. Acquire new customers. Take stock of your email marketing campaigns. How many are designed solely to acquire new customers? Are you using auto responders effectively to support your sales team? Make sure your client acquisition campaigns are laser focused.
Two. Increase your average order size. At an email conference a few years back I saw the perfect implementation of this strategy using email by Sprint. In the transaction email that confirmed a new customer purchase they added a few select accessory offers. What do you know? Sales increased.
Three. Increase the reorder rate. This is a natural for email marketing but it is of course easier said than done. You must take some time to create a series of emails that provide chances for your new customers to place further orders.
If you use online email marketing to apply these three strategies your revenues will increase.
And if you do them well, your revenue will increase exponentially.
(I challenge you to pick a marketing channel or strategy that doesn’t fit into one of these three boxes)
