Here’s a great example of how to write email copy to encourage people to join your list.
You think that visitors on your site fill in your optin form just because you ask them. Think again. They have to have a good reason to do so.
Here’s an example of good email marketing copy from Marie Forleo.
See the headline and the title of the guide.
The headline is big, colored and gives you a benefit– “and How To Avoid Them.”
On top of that, the video builds a bit of rapport and tells you why this is good for you.
A minute thirty eight is a tad long for my taste but you’d do well to make it as compelling.
Also note the use of the Send it Now! button. Beats a Submit button every time.
But the real reason I love Marlie Forleo is that she has one of the best examples of a newsletter signup I’ve come across in a long time.
I hope you can still read the copy in the image but regard, the benefit-laden headline. A+
Note the use of humor to make it personal. A+
It tells you what you’ll get-clearly. A+
It reminds you that it’s FREE. A+
A bold sign up button as a call to action. A+
All in all you can’t do much better than this for email marketing copy to help motivate more people to join your list.
A+ to Marie Forleo, (I love you)
